On April 1, 2008, doomsday cultists who had been declaring the world would end on May 28th, 2008, emerged from their collapsing caves into a cloudy, Russian day. These cultists, led by self-proclaimed prophet Pyotr Kuznetsov, expected the world to end a month after the Orthodox Easter.
In total, 21 women and 18 men died. The method used was taking crushed sleeping pills mixed with apple sauce or pudding and washing it down with Vodka.
There is continuing controversy over who is responsible for the deaths, though many agree the blame should be divided among the church, the FBI and ATF agents
