Beginning in 1837, there circulated within London vague reports of a man appearing suddenly, startling innocent people, and then jumping to impossible heights and vanishing. One report stated that the man caused the crash of a horse and carriage by appearing in front of the vehicle and then escaping by jumping over a 10-foot fence.
On September 23, 1880, on a farm near Gallatin, Tennessee, David Lang was walking across the fields of his farm. Lang’s wife and children were watching him from the house. Suddenly, in the view of everyone, Lang vanished in mid-step. One moment he was walking and the next moment he was gone.
While in Edinburgh, Reverend Hickes interviewed Janet about her powers and life. She would tell nothing of her parentage or early life but merely repeated certain statements about her “gift.” Her vocabulary seemed to indicate some education, although Janet claimed to be an ordinary girl from the Highlands. She said she did not know where her paranormal powers came from.
Researchers and archaeologists have searched in the most likely locations west of Ireland, and there is evidence that islands existed there. Shallow-water shells have been found at Porcupine Bank, somewhat northwest of the most likely location of Hy-Brasil.
Cayce maintained that Atlantis was the “first” civilization which was technologically superior to even our own and that its last surviving islands have disappeared somewhere in the Atlantic ocean some ten thousand years ago.
The island of Santorini is a more likely location for the lost island of Atlantis than other proposed locations.
