Au Claire de la Lune
This first track is not really a creepy audio recording, but definitely worth inclusion. Audio recordings have been available since the 1800s, so it would be interesting to start this article with the first known audio recording of a human singing. It was made in 1860. That’s 155 years ago! Édouard-Léon Scott de Martinville recorded the audio track on a phonograph on April 9th, 1860. In this recording, Scott sings a folk song called Au Claire de la Lune. Bigfoot?
Imagine seeing a strange, large figure staring at you from your own yard? This actually happened to a man from the Kitsap Peninsula in Washington State in the 1990s. As you hear the recording of his 911 call, you get the sense that he is unsure of where it is a large man or something even more sinister. Some say it was a prowler. Others believe it was Big Foot. This next track is as frightening as it can get. Not much is known about it, other than it is allegedly a 911 call from a senior citizen reporting a suspicious individual at her house. The 911 call records her brutal murder by this intruder. Please be advised that this recording is extremely disturbing.
Soyuz 1
Vladimir Komarov was a Russian cosmonaut who was in command of the Soyuz 1 spacecraft when it launched in April of 1967. The mission went wrong from the very start and Komarov had difficulty orienting the spacecraft for reentry into Earth’s atmosphere. He finally managed to get the spacecraft to reenter the atmosphere in the 19th orbit, but the problems only got worse from there. The Soyuz 1 parachute failed to open and the spacecraft crashed into earth, killing Komarov instantly. A U.S. listening post picked up Komarov’s final transmission as he plunged to his death. You can hear him crying with rage and cursing the people who put him inside this botched spacecraft.

The East Area Rapist
He went by many names. The Original Night Stalker, The East Area Rapist, and the Golden Gate Killer. The original Night Stalker allegedly killed up to 13 people and raped over 50 women. On 24 April 2018, Sacramento County Sheriff’s officers arrested Joseph James DeAngelo based on DNA analysis. You are about to hear a recording of a call he placed to one of his victims. This audio recording is about as chilling as they come.

Schizophrenia Auditory Example
Schizophrenia is a terrible disease that affects 51 million people worldwide. Many people diagnosed with schizophrenia suffer from auditory hallucinations. Recently, researchers at UC David Medical Center created an audio example of what someone suffering from schizophrenia hears. This simulation is a result of interviews with many Schizophrenic patients. In this audio track, I urge you to listen to the recording using your headphones and imagine a life with these voices in your head. It is enough to make anyone go mad.
